ADVOCACY PROJECT

Building local momentum to expand access to radioligand therapy.
Radioligand therapy has progressed rapidly over the past decade, yet access remains unequal across regions. In many countries, the infrastructure, training and referral pathways needed to bring this treatment to people living with cancer are still being built.
To support this progress, the Oncidium foundation launched the Regional Radiotheranostics Summits, a series of focused events that gather healthcare leaders, oncologists, policymakers, nuclear medicine specialists, investors and industry representatives. Each edition is designed around the realities of its region, with a common goal: sharing practical knowledge to help establish radioligand therapy locally.
Every summit explores four key areas:
- Concept and landscape, to map where the field stands globally and regionally.
- Infrastructure and technology, covering the practical steps to set up a nuclear medicine centre.
- Clinical experience with radioligand therapy, through case studies and expert exchanges.
- Patient testimonials, keeping the experience of people living with cancer at the centre of the conversation.

Dubai, January 2025
The first edition took place on 29 January 2025 in Dubai, alongside Arab Health. Focused on the Middle East, Africa and Asia, the programme brought together international experts to discuss how to accelerate the local setup of radiotheranostics infrastructure and improve access for people living with cancer.
The Dubai Radiotheranostics Summit 2025 brought together 140 participants from 50 nationalities, with the strongest delegations from the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, Egypt, Turkey, and Jordan.
Across the day, 15 speakers explored how to establish radioligand therapy in the region, joined by leading voices such as Dr. Munir Ghesani (Past President of SNMMI), Dr. Batool Albalooshi, Dr. Ilya Gipp from GE HealthCare, Dr. Valery Radchenko from the IAEA, and Rebecca Lo Bue, CEO of the Oncidium foundation.
Two people living with cancer also shared their experience with radioligand therapy, keeping patient voices at the heart of the conversation.
Dr. Munir Ghesani, about the Dubaï Radiotheranostics Summit: "You learn from various top leaders giving the input, so that you don't have to reinvent that wheel and expedite that process of implementation."
Nairobi, April 2026
The second edition was held in Nairobi on 28 April 2026, hosted within the World Health Summit Regional Meeting at the United Nations Office. Centred on Africa, the session explored how to establish radioligand therapy for advanced cancer care in the region, with contributions from clinicians, regulators, patient advocates and national health authorities.
