32P-Colloidal Chromic Phosphate is a radiotherapeutic used for intracavital administration of beta emitters for solid tumors, Radiosynovectomy or cystic brain tumors. 32P is a pure β-emitting colloidal, non-absorbable Radiopharmaceutical administered into body cavities such as the pleural or peritoneal spaces to control malignant effusions. Recent work showed some interest in cystic brain tumors (craniopharyngioma or astrocytoma) in combination with External radiotherapy. In some countries this drug was used in Radiosynovectomy (back to 1982) before it was replaced by 169Er, 186Re or 90Y.
