In India, the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), is a University Hospital based in Tirupati. The city is home to most famous and important Vaishnavite shrine of Tirumala Venkateswara Temple and is referred to as the “Spiritual Capital of Andhra Pradesh”. It was established in the aim of providing Super Specialty facilities with nominal cost to the people in need.

The temple is visited by about 40 million people per year that make donations which are used for various charity projects including high level medical treatment for those in need at the SVIMS. The medical institute serves not only the poor and needy patients belonging to Andhra Pradesh but also several of the neighboring states.

The SVIMS runs an advanced department of Nuclear medicine and is providing high-end Theranostics treatments. When budget allows, they can treat up to 15 cancer patients per month with radioligand therapy. The goal of the SVIMS is to make available the cutting-edge medical technology to every individual at an affordable rate.

The Oncidium foundation supports this initiative allowing the SVIMS to treat more patients. Support this project: http://svimstpt.ap.nic.in/sbavps_files/accomplishment.pdf
